The Governor and the Mayor were at Justine's school this morning to kick off the "We're Booking it Challenge". They want the kids to read 10,000 books by June!
Justine's class is also doing a reading challenge, they are trying to read 3,000 books by the end of the year. Last week they had a party because they hit the 1,000 mark. Justine got a prize for being one of the top 5 "superstar readers"!! She was given a mechanical pencil and apparently she thinks this is the coolest prize EVER! Monday morning on the way to school she said she was upset they had so many days off because she had to wait to use it!
